You practise on your own face instead of watching a demonstration. Contouring, highlighting and eyeshadow blending are the core of it, along with the reasoning behind each step, so you can repeat the look at home and not only in the session.

Everything is taught against your own features and skin type. What works on someone with different eyes or a different undertone won't necessarily work on you, and a good part of the session goes into that difference.
